Dingdong Dantes x Garage Magazine

So Dingdong Dantes is the face of Garage Magazine for their August - September cover, take note: it's the magazines's 3rd anniversary issue. Looking forward for the Fall - Winter Trend Report Mag. that comes with it. Plus! They have the best-dressed men list - very Preview-ish, I say.

Don't you just think he seemed sleepy on the cover? Har.

Kermit Gone Gaga

There are unconfirmed reports that Kermit Tesoro will be doing a pair of his far-fetched heels for the Fame Monster, Lady Gaga. Famous for his skulls, studs, and heel-less shoes, he is now marking the local scene and even have made his works to the covers of numerous magazines. But, this would be a stepping stone for this boy wonder of the Philippines to finally conquer the worldwide high fashion scene.
Below are some of his designs, even worn by the fashion-forward personalities, top-billed stars, and socialites.

Very excited with this collaboration. You already, Kermit!

Planking Is In!!

Okay, let's face it. Planking (learn more, click here) is the weirdest thing happening now to the social hub. Honestly, I just learned that it exists from my friends, and they were the ones who made me agree to try it. But of course, I did it in style (lol). They said that the more awkward the place and the more challenging you plank, the more it will catch attention to your audience. Fine, I did it in our Millennium Garden - near our University Food Court. The thing is, there were some HRIM students practicing their 'barista' skills. See how it worked (or maybe not? haha)

POP CULTURE Tee; Vintage Pants; BENCH Socks.

With the rest of the gang:
L-R: Jen, Yours Truly, Micah & Mimi

This time w/ my good friend, Marvin (also a blogger, btw click here)
& Mimi once more
WARNING: This Planking thingy is so addictive - kidding, it hurt my muscles.

School Can't Handle Us

Taking up a tough course, means you should be tougher than it. My road in Nursing has never been a consistent smooth one. There are rough times, and with those are the boring (and I mean "BORING") days. So what a good way fighting the "umay" factor to pose and smile in front of the lens. See how student nurses do it:

Reggie's Angels, haha.

The scene.
This was just in our campus, near the nursing building. Just an ice-breaker for the stressful days.

Bold & Plaid

Today, early in the morning, I attended our mid-year thanksgiving in our church. Decided to wear something edgy yet not that alarming for a special church event. Thanks to my lil brother (for being in the mood, haha), he was the one who took these pictures after the thanksgiving.

FOREVER 21 Cardigan; LOOK FOR LESS ENSEMBLES
plaid shirt; FOLDED & HUNG belt; vintage pants
Happy 97th Anniversary to Iglesia Ni Cristo.
To God Be The Glory!

PS: Sorry for the photo quality. I know it's bad, ugh!

Fear Factor?

What's your greatest fear? Me, aside from being alone, are snakes! I dunno why others can stand seeing it and even taking a photo carrying one on their shoulders (wee, goosebumps). I'm not really comfortable looking at it in pictures, television programs, and of course, in real life. Hate the fact that they seemed very slimy and their tongue freaks me out!

So when I went to Talavera -here in Nueva Ecija -  with friends, I froze when I learned that there's a mini zoo that houses two big pythons. Really had the coldest sweat ever! Good thing they were sleeping that time, if they were awake then, I will faint for sure. Here are those lovely pythons, WTH.

Here are the other animals you could see at Talavera's mini zoo:

SUPER SALE

For those who don't know, July is the part of the year where boutiques raise their "SALE" flags. This is the time where they clean up their stocks to make way for the new ones. And I'm not talkin' about a little slash off to the price, the July sale is crazy! Even crazier than a Holiday sale. So better grab your lazy ass up, and scour your favorite boutiques for great finds at super affordable cost.

So this is the scene at Zara's TriNoma branch, look at the chic shoes available for only P1990! F#&%, if I were just born with a lot of cash in my mouth, I would've bought even three pairs (okay, haha).

Okay, I need to move on and save some more, lol.

The End Of An Era

As an HP fan, I can never miss it's last film installment. Decided to watch The Deathly Hallows' part 2 last Friday night with friends. The experience was so surreal, thinking it would be the last Harry Potter encounter.Plus, so many revelations unveiled. 10 years of Potterverse and it's legacy beside is a major deliciousness.

ICE CREAM

Saw this last night at the mall. Seriously? WTF. Really funny.

Balloon Blues

Yesterday, out of nowhere, I randomly asked my classmates why does a child can't release a balloon from her hand? Some responded entertaining answers but one replied that it's hard to let it go for a child. True enough, for me it's really hard to let it go, 'cause there is no assurance that it will fall back to you after some time.

That's what makes life magical. We can't really explain why are we holding on to things we don't really get benefits from. It's hard to let it go especially when it never really became yours.

Dressing Room Diaries

Who has not yet taken a photo of themselves in a fitting/dressing room? I suppose majority of us have taken a photo or two in one. Just guess on what boutique I took these photos, cause picture-taking is prohibited in this boutique, haha.

Yeah, my smile seemed very awkward. haha

RACKS

So last Saturday, my good friend Mimi and I went out to see the super sale around the metro. And we decided to try dining at Racks at SM North Edsa. Like what it promised, the meat really is so juicy yet so delicate that it falls off from the bones when you take a bite.

I ordered their Hickory Chicken (something like that, can't really remember it's name). It was well complimented by their barbeque sauces. It was also served with Gravy Fries as side dish.

It was really a dining experience that you would be coming back for, swear.

Procrastinated Anew

When I thought of something to match with my 'killer' boots, military details abruptly came to me. So I had to wear it with my shirt that has epaulets and my shorts that I sort of enhanced. Somewhat military, I could live with it still, lol.

BENCH tee; F&H belt; DIY shorts;
& my killer boots, lol

Forgive me with the photo quality.

Taken For Granted

So last week, while arranging my closet (which took me like forever, haha) I saw a shoe box and it struck to my head that's it a pair I bought months ago from a department store. Really, I had the best laugh for myself that moment. Promise to wear this soon!

Gii-nimated

I really love wearing something quirky every so often, so I decided to wear my cartoon rings to our second session in a review center that we were eyeing on, haha.
101 NY tee; BENCH harems, F&H necklace; & My New Lover (lol)
Cartoon rings I got from Clipper.

My New Lover

Bryan boy wrote that "Love is the alternative for fashion". There's no argument on that, but right now for me, Fashion is my alternative to Love. So whenever a clothing article speaks with me, I'd grab every single opportunity to have it. Like the feeling when I saw this pair of boots, that I told myself 'I've got to buy this!', I just fell in love.

So if you can't find romantic love via a human being, I suggest finding it through fashion articles, lol.

Hello Holiday 2011

Hey it's July, aside from the rainy days ahead,  it's also the official first month for the holiday season in the Philippines (since we really don't have Fall/Winter). Here are my top-picks for the gloomy season:

John Galliano. Can't seem to see the sun? Then sparkle and shine with this, I must say, very Gaga-ish outfits.

Dolce & Gabbana. Get the red-hot-fiery vibe with bold prints and patterns. I love the fact that even though red is the base of the palette, it's not that harsh on the eyes for its perfect combination of the design and material.

Bottega Veneta. It's all about leather and military details to fashionably fight the cold weather. Very manly, sir!

That's just a glimpse on what direction to go this Holiday 2011. Remember not to be afraid on experimenting on your personal style and don't get very dependent with style rules. Have a blast!

The Art Of Deadma

Have you ever received such rude comments? On your outfit? On your hairstyle? On your bags? On your shoes? On your personality? FCUK. It's rightful to tell comments if it is for the betterment of a person, but please remember to be courteous and polite enough. I always say to my friends that you honor criticisms if that would come to the mouth of  a person very knowledgeable on that matter. Not only criticisms are painful, but also all the side comments, chicmis, etcetera.  Learn the 'Art of Deadma'. I made a rundown on the people to snob, haha.

1.) The Backstabbers. Yes they are the ones responsible for creating kick-ass gossips behind you.

2. Them Goatscapers. They really suck. If they have mistakes, they will point their fingers onto someone else - yes, even if they were caught red-handed on it.

3.) The Perfectionists. They are the gods and goddesses of styling and everything else. As if they were born flawless.

4.) The 'Feelers'. Yes they exist, they feel like they're the MOST on every single category we have on this world. Hey wake up, the world does not revolve on you!
5.) Lastly - my personal favorite - the Haters. They constantly ruin your image by sucking up other people's innocent minds.

We must remember that all mentioned above complete the ecosystem of the planet we live in. Never make them happy by making them recognized. Learn to suck it up and dust it off so you can live without limits.

METRO vs PREVIEW

This afternoon, after my classes, I saw already Metro & Preview's July Cover. They have the alluring Angelica Panganiban and Iza Calzado respectively. Both have gorgeous covers, from which are both fashionably well-done. It's the annual beauty issue for Metro, while Preview published their annual epic best-dressed issue.

In the fashion industry I reckon collaboration is more important, though competition spices up everything. Yet a single penny is not a waste when buying a good magazine.
